It’s easy to get stuck in a rut of eating the same foods all the time. A lack of variety can keep you from getting all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients you need. Besides, it’s fun to try new things!


 

How often do you experiment with new foods? Do you cook or eat a variety of healthy foods?

 

The below list of foods can help inspire you to venture out of your comfort zone, taste new things and eat healthy foods. Try a new food item each week! If you can’t eat at home, check them off your list when dining out.

You may not have heard of some of these foods before, and they may seem intimidating. Give them a chance. Smell or sample foods before buying, or purchase small amounts in case you just can’t stand them. At least you can say you tried!

 

Good nutrition habits can help prevent disease and prevent health problems, like heart disease, stroke, hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis and certain forms of cancer.  In addition, eating healthy can help you feel better and more energetic!
